How we verify information

Last updated November 5, 2026

Certification rules change. Exams are updated, fees rise, eligibility rules move. This page explains how we check the facts on pmionline and what you can expect from each page.

Where our facts come from

Facts about a certification, such as eligibility, exam length, number of questions, domains, fees and renewal requirements, come from the organisation that awards it: the Project Management Institute (PMI) or PeopleCert. We use their certification pages, handbooks, examination content outlines and syllabus documents.

When an official page does not state a detail clearly, we may use a well-known training provider or exam guide that reports it, and we say so on the page. When we cannot confirm a detail, we leave it out and point you to the provider rather than guess.

What each page shows

  • An "Updated" date near the title, showing when the page was last checked.
  • Source notes under key tables, and a Sources list at the end of the page linking to the official information we used.
  • Clear wording on prices. Fees often differ by country and membership. We give the commonly published figure and remind you to confirm it before paying.

When providers make changes

We review certification pages regularly and when a provider announces a change, for example PMI's updated PMP exam from 9 July 2026 or PeopleCert's renaming of MSP, MoP, M_o_R and P3O within the PRINCE2 family. Changes are checked by an editor before a page is updated.

What we do not do

  • We do not copy providers' text. We explain facts in our own words and link to the source.
  • We do not invent statistics, pass rates or passing scores. If a provider does not publish one, we say so.
  • We do not present one provider's certification as part of another's.

Always confirm before you book

pmionline is a guide, not the official source. Before you apply, pay or book an exam, confirm the current requirements on the provider's website.
